Making it as a business consultant

Who is the book for?

Any one who is running, or wants to run, a business services company, across the spectrum. Anyone who is in the business of finding clients and delivering services to them will find this book fascinating as well as informative. So whatever your chosen field of technical expertise, whether in media, PR, HR, quality, business process design, IT, environmental, strategy, etc etc serving pubic or private sector clients, you will learn how to turn your technical expertise into commercial success.

Who is the author?

Richard Faint has a twenty year track record working at the sharp end as a successful consultant to leading public and private sector clients. Richard provides, in a conversational, ‘no punches pulled’ manner, all the insights and tips that have been hard earned over his career. Prior to establishing his consultancy, Richard was a teacher, lecturer, and government adviser and has authored and produced many publications in a range of formats on learning methodologies, technologies and management topics.   (More.. )

Why would the book be important to me?

The journey is explained in a clear, step-by-step manner, and follows the simple protocol of ‘research, prepare, deliver’.  Richard explains why setting up and being successful is not ‘rocket science’, (hence the title) but you do need to follow a clear path (which he details for you) to ensure that you don’t go astray. This is particularly relevant in these turbulent times. Indeed, he explains why we should not fear change but embrace it, as it is in times of economic challenges that new opportunities are forged, which the well prepared consultant should profit from.

Whatever your field of expertise,  if your business model is mainly B2B, then Richard will detail what you should do, and what you should not, to have the best chance of long term success.
